‘The pre-emptive doctrine overturns the conclusions of the Nuremburg Tribunals that "War is the Supreme Crime" from which all the lesser crimes naturally flow. It elevates war to a viable form of foreign policy; an acceptable means of establishing one state's superiority over another. In the case of Iraq, where the theory was applied with the most appalling results; it has been exposed as a cruel facsimile of unprovoked aggression against a defenseless enemy. The horrific after-effects have been the destruction of Iraqi society, the death of over 100,000 civilians and an enduring conflict with no end in sight. These are the predictable consequences of a pernicious theory that glorifies force above all else. 

 

The principle at the heart of "enemy combatants" is no less sinister than that of pre-emption. The theory presupposes that there is a category of men that are intrinsically undeserving of any human rights whatsoever. "Enemy combatants" is not intended to selectively deprive people of particular rights; it is a blanket indictment of anyone the president arbitrarily chooses to name; stripping them of their civil liberties without any legal recourse. It overturns every meaningful precedent of International law and American jurisprudence.

 

Due process, habeas corpus and the presumption of innocence are all rescinded by executive edict. "Enemy combatants" is the language of tyrants; it represents the dénouement of the rule of law and the birth of the imperial presidency.’

The US mega-machine, having captured our little Johnnee, has free reins to pinch our marbles and make us do repugnant acts such as contemplating first strike or delegating our vessels weaponry triggers to the US... Adelaide economy is being boosted with a little dirty war money coming from the US until that State will be held to ransom and will have to start forking out big bucks to get decent services... All this of course with the blessing of Canberra, because South Australia will lose its Labor Government thus.... That the US sponsor terrorists in Iran is ugly and that they get away with murder is a pox on all of us in Australia by association. Shame on John Howard, our furphy-driven drongo, for placing us in a dangerous mess and also letting our true Aussie culture vanish in favour of Hollywood tinsel .. Keep fighting the porkies! Keep fighting for Aussie lingo!

Landmine clear up gets $75m boost

Australia will spend $75 million to combat the rising number of deaths from landmines and unexploded ordnance in South-East Asia, Iraq and Afghanistan, Foreign Minister Alexander Downer said. On the sidelines of a regional security summit in Vientiane, Mr Downer said Australia would increase spending over the next five years to boost unexploded weapons clearing efforts. Most of the money would be spent in Laos and neighbouring Cambodia, but the boost would also help war-torn Middle Eastern countries, he said. "Laos is the country I think in the world which has had the largest number of bombs dropped on it and there are still many unexploded devices in Laos," Mr Downer said.

What! Only 30 years too late. How extraordinarily generous of Mr Downer. What a soul! Tory justice is so sweet, when it's laced with mouth-watering hypocrisy.

There's a guru for non-lethal defense, a neurophysiologist, and a pharmacologist specialising in neuroscience on the board of directors. It could be they are working on the invention of a tasteless, odourless and invisible substance that can be used to subdue crowds, or whole populations, in times of unrest. In fact, I think I've seen a pilot trial of the stuff. Watch the PM's next press conference. About 10 minutes before The Leader comes out, a bloke sprays an aerosol around the room. The reason given is to dispel the fumes and odours emitted by the typical working journo. However, the effect of the stun-gas is to turn the most aggressive reporters into supine clods. That's why they just sit there, mouths wide open, transcribing the 'truth' cascading from The Leader, no questions asked.

Substance designed to modify consciousness

There are many drugs beyond those used by school kids, rave party goers, drug addicts and medicinal Prozac that do alter understanding of perceptions. We drink booze... smoke cigarettes and drink coffee.... Thus we know that many such drugs do already exist. Some are not offically marketed because they cause depression and massive delusion permanently. In Europe, one variety of vine is illegal to grow because the wine made from the grapes induces permanent damage to the brain like volatiles in petrol (petrol actually does not alter consciousness, it is the toluene and other solvent in it that does). When I was in Africa, drugs such as these were used by the locals to turn "sane" people who would "misbehave" (adultery. etc) into "zombies"... Basically the person under the effect of the drug would lose his/her on will and become dependent to a great extend on commands by anyone including the controlling subject... My scientific chemical/medicinal book on drug (which I lent to someone and was never returned to me), had long list of many substances that could also deeply alter consciousness. We cannot escape the fact that a "euphoric" drug such as Prosac has been marketed, thus it follows that a reverse drug exist if you see what I mean... This leads to many "suicides" of people who are creating trouble for governments for example... etc... Read between the lines here. Induction of behaviour through drug (gases in that category have the added advantage to work on many people at once) has been thus generated from many years. LSD was a drug (and may still be used) used by the CIA in the 60s... We have to hope there is a strong wind blowing to disperse the stufff before we take all a deep breath... What I meant to say here is that such drugs can be of several major kinds with different effects: substances (drug, gases,, etc) that modify our perceptions, substances that modify our interpretations of our perceptions, drugs that modify our reaction to our interpretations...Most of these substances can be active in various percentage in all these facets of the management of consciousness...
