On the edge of a black hole

On the edge of a black hole

Pidddley moneys

from the ABC
""""PM denies Newman grant a rort
The Prime Minister says he makes no apologies for awarding a $50,000 grant to the West Australian mining town of Newman.
The Federal Opposition says the funding announcement, which was made during the election campaign, directly implicates John Howard in the regional rorts affair."""""

from GUSNoos:

Whomever has seen Mount Newman — and Gus has spent time there — knows it's one of the biggest man made hole in the world, if not the biggest... — (the town is a bit of a big hole too) — from which most of the extracted proceeds come back to Aussieland in the shape of 4-wheel-drives and such.

Trucks the size of apartment blocks do look like ants deep inside this "mount" as they carry millions of tons of iron ore ... Of course it takes about ten years for any bank note to reach the bottom of it and it might take that long to sort out the purpose of this grant to one of the richest mine operation in WA...

another great hole .....

The Editor,

Sydney Morning Herald.                                                 November 2, 2005.

This is clearly no ordinary hole. (‘Gridlock as highway ramp collapses’, Herald, November 2)

Perhaps it is a bizarre new ‘traffic control’ device conceived by the RTA to underpin the success of the new M7 freeway or a sophisticated new fee extraction vehicle from the strangeloves at MacBank; it could even be a fiendish terrorist plot to undermine the Prime Minister in his own electorate or just a simple metaphor for the state of the NSW economy?

What a shame they didn’t build it in Macquarie Street.
