huckabee and the ark

Last year, Moskoff, who describes himself as a "Jewish Indiana Jones," published a nonfiction book, also called The A.R.K. Report, chronicling his search for this legendary artifact, and he got a boost from a higher power of a different sort—former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, who is now a Republican presidential candidate.

"From the days of ancient history to the modern interest created by movies like 'Raiders of the Lost Ark,' there has been a dogged curiosity about the biblical 'Ark of the Covenant,'" Huckabee wrote in a blurb. "Rabbi Harry Moskoff's spellbinding book, 'The Ark Report,' takes curiosity to clarity and gives the reader an understanding of why the authenticity of the real Ark could be a game changer for the world."

Huckabee had one good reason to endorse the Moskoff's book—he was in it. Moskoff snagged a sit-down interview with the former governor and featured it prominently in the middle of the book. In this lengthy Q&A, Huckabee discussed a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict (he was against it) and claimed the Obama administration was too cowardly to confront Iran. Huckabee, a onetime Baptist minister, also weighed in on Markoff's theory regarding the ark, noting that modern-day archeology has consistently proven that the stories of the Bible are true...

The future of loony humanity is in good hand...

the future of pervert humanity is in good hands...

Presidential candidate and former governor of Arkansas, Mike Huckabee, became the first public figure to express support for the ultra-Christian Duggar family of TLC’s “19 Kids and Counting” reality show after the 27-year-old Duggar son, Josh, admitted to alleged child molestation charges as a teenager. Huckabee published his statement on his Facebook page and, among other things, wrote:

Josh’s actions when he was an underage teen are as he described them himself, ‘inexcusable,’ but that doesn’t mean ‘unforgivable.’ He and his family dealt with it and were honest and open about it with the victims and the authorities. No purpose whatsoever is served by those who are now trying to discredit Josh or his family by sensationalizing the story.

Huckabee’s soft-pedaling here, as well as his attempt to pivot the scandal into the laps of everyone else but the perpetrators, makes it seem as if Josh Duggar innocently blurted an obscenity on the radio, or was caught shoplifting a bag of chips from a 7-Eleven. He confessed to repeatedly molesting young girls. Then he and his family engaged in a lengthy cover-up, while foisting Josh into the spotlight of their television show and allowing him to proselytize in support of the twisted Duggar concept of “family values, ...”

and now for the mike-promised land...

Mike Huckabee says that he wants an independent Palestine to be “outside the boundaries of the nation of Israel,” but he doesn’t mean what most people would take this statement to mean. After all, any two-state solution would necessarily create a Palestinian state outside the boundaries of Israel, and it would firmly establish where Israel’s borders with the new state are, but that isn’t what Huckabee has in mind. He went on to say this:

There’s plenty of land in the world where we can find a place and say, ‘Okay, let’s create a Palestinian state.’ But not within the confines of a secure Israel.

This shows just how bizarre and fanatical Huckabee’s position is. He believes lands currently inhabited by Palestinians to be “within the confines” of Israel when they are anything but that. So he takes it as a given that these lands fall within Israel’s boundaries, and therefore an independent Palestine has to be created somewhere

hum... see toon at top... Meanwhile:

US President Barack Obama says Israel risks losing “credibility” over prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s stance on the creation of a Palestinian state. Netanyahu ruled out the establishment of a Palestinian state while campaigning earlier this year. “Already, the international community does not believe that Israel is serious about a two-state solution,” said Obama.

We knew that...

boots in wombs...

Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee told supporters in Iowa on Thursday that if he were elected president he would consider using the FBI or National Guard to end abortion by force. Per the Topeka Capital-Journal:

"I will not pretend there is nothing we can do to stop this," Huckabee said at the event, where a Topeka Capital-Journal correspondent was present.

At his next stop, in Rockwell City, Huckabee answered follow-up questions from the correspondent, saying: "All American citizens should be protected."

Asked by another reporter how he would stop abortion, and whether this would mean using the FBI or federal forces to accomplish this, Huckabee replied: "We'll see if I get to be president."

That's crazy. The right to an abortion has been upheld by the Supreme Court. Huckabee is saying he might simply disregard the judicial branch and stop the practice unilaterally—that is, he'd remove the checks from "checks and balances." It's not the first time he's proposed a constitutional crisis as an antidote to things he doesn't like. Huckabee has also said states should practice civil disobedience by ignoring the Supreme Court's decision on same-sex marriage.

finding the ark...

The researchers claim that a sect of Jews driven by King Manasseh from Israel took the Ark with them and transported it to Egypt from where they eventually sailed up the Nile to Ethiopia.

BASE investigators pursuing this lead eventually arrived at the Church of Our Lady Mary of Zion in the city of Axum, whose priests claimed that the Ark was indeed contained within.

The investigators however were refused access to the alleged relic, as apparently only a guardian monk keeping a lifelong vigil over the Ark can see it.

"At this juncture, we cannot say with certainty that it is, but neither can he say for certain that it isn’t," the investigators said. "What we have concluded is that St. Mary’s of Zion church in Axum, Ethiopia, is the resting place either of an incredible replica of the biblical Ark of the Covenant, or, of the actual Ark of the Covenant itself."
