praise the lord... jesus said "cast a stone even if you are a sinner and LGBTs shall be deprived of cup cakes..."

cupcake

"I think frankly, our churches should not be forced to do anything that's not consistent with them. But if you're a cupcake maker and somebody wants a cupcake, make them a cupcake. Let's not have a big lawsuit or argument over all this stuff — move on. The next thing, you know, they might be saying, if you're divorced you shouldn't get a cupcake," Kasich said at the Feb. 13 debate.

The notion that religious liberty is confined to churches, that one should leave their religion behind when they enter the marketplace, is also the basis for the narrow religious freedom exemption in Obama's birth control mandate. Houses of worship are exempt but everyone else must go along, regardless of how offensive abortifacients are to your religious sensibilities, Obama argued. The Supreme Court disagreed.

When asked again about the issue at the March 3 debate, Kasich avoided a direct answer, saying, "we need to learn to respect each other, and learn to be a little bit more tolerant for one another, and at the end of the day, don't go to court. ... If somebody's being pressured to participate in something that is against their deeply held religious beliefs, then we're gonna have to think about dealing with a law. ... I'd rather people figure this out without having more laws on the books."

The religious diatribe here is painfully hypocritical and nonsensical, as well as rejectfully unchristian. Nowhere is there a decree in god's bible that say you shall pelt someone for being a sinner (unless you are god Himself — god is a male). And what is sin? Transgression of god's commandments? Do these commandment mention cupcakes? I rest my case... with the toon above.

even in the atheist "community"...

Atheist Alliance International has released a report on Gender Imbalance in the atheist community, its sources, and its possible responses and solutions. Gender imbalance in the atheist / humanist community has been noted for many years, including in AAI's own Atheist Census project. AAI has determined this gender imbalance to be a problem in our community, rooted in centuries-old patriarchal systems and promoted and defended by many of the world's religions. In today's modernist world with recognized human rights for women as outlined in the UN's Convention on Women's Rights, AAI believes that gender imbalance, both in our own communities as well as in the general populace, is an important issue for atheists to embrace and work to overcome as part of our responsibility to our humanity.

april first is coming early against the gideonists...

A school district in Colorado will soon distribute a collection of satanic and atheist literature at their high schools and middle schools in response to complaints from atheist groups.

Delta County School District will place literature provided by the Freedom From Religion Foundation, Western Colorado Atheists and Freethinkers, and the Satanic Temple on April 1.

In a statement released Thursday, FFRF explained that their demands were made in response to the passive distribution of Gideon Bibles during the school day.

"The Delta County School District could have resolved the issue by not allowing religious groups inside their schools," claimed FFRF Co-President Dan Barker. "But since it has chosen to be obdurate, it's left us with no option than to respond to the religious propagandizing."

Ahahahahaha... The Betoota Advocate could have written this script...

the politics of cakes and puddings...

The US Supreme Court will today hear arguments as to why a baker should, or shouldn't, be able to legally refuse to bake a cake for a same-sex couple.

It's the formal debate Australia appears to have avoided — as the mooted Senate amendments advocating for such exemptions in the same-sex marriage bill were scrapped last week.

But in the US, the case of Masterpiece Cakeshop v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission is being watched closely, and its outcome may have major reverberations for civil rights across the country.

the anti-gay charming christian austin bomber...

The man suspected of being behind a series of deadly package bombs in Austin, Texas, was a Christian who was homeschooled and advocated for socially conservative views.

Mark Anthony Conditt, 23, an unemployed resident of Pflugerville, is believed to have been behind the bombings. He killed himself with an explosive device in his car Wednesday as a SWAT team closed in after police pulled him over on Interstate 35.

A friend of Conditt who was close to him in 2012 and 2013, told the Austin American-Statesman that the suspected bomber regularly attended worship services and Bible study at Austin Stone Community Church.
