Virginia-based Don’s Johns calls itself the Washington area’s top provider of portable toilet rentals. But the name apparently strikes too close to home for inauguration organizers.

Workers have placed blue tape over the company name on dozens of portable restrooms installed near the Capitol for the inauguration.

The company’s name is clearly visible upon close inspection but is blocked for a wide-angle view by a TV or still camera.

The inauguration will take place on the west side of the Capitol facing the National Mall. Portable toilets set up on the east side, near Senate office buildings, do not have taped-over logos.

Don’s Johns says on its website that it has provided portable toilets for many large events in Washington, including the 2009 inauguration ceremony for Barack Obama. The company’s logos were visible during that event.

The joint congressional committee on inaugural ceremonies and the presidential inaugural committee had no immediate comment on Friday.

sending obama appointees to the shit house...

Washington: Donald Trump has embarked on an unprecedented purge of government officials appointed by US President Barack Obama in a bid to wipe the slate clean ahead of his inauguration.

Scores of presidential appointees, including ambassadors in far-flung capitals, two nuclear security chiefs and the head of Washington's National Guard will be leaving their posts on Friday at noon, having received unexpected orders to do so, just as Mr Trump takes office as one of the most unpopular and scandal-ridden incoming presidents in history.

While his recent predecessors were swept toward inauguration day on a tide of goodwill, Mr Trump has jolted from scandal to intrigue and back again, lashing out at his critics on Twitter and rarely appearing in public.

Just 44 per cent of Americans approve of how he has handled his transition to the presidency, compared with 83 per cent for Barack Obama, 61 per cent for George W. Bush and 68 per cent for Bill Clinton, according to Gallup.

The predecessors to Trump are no measuring sticks. They lied.

NATO — down the toilet?...

London: Donald Trump called NATO obsolete, predicted that other European Union members would follow the United Kingdom in leaving the bloc, and threatened BMW with import duties over a planned plant in Mexico.

Trump, in an hour-long discussion with Germany's Bild and TheTimes of London published on Sunday, signalled a major shift in trans-Atlantic relations, including an interest in lifting US sanctions on Russia as part of a nuclear weapons reduction deal.

boycotting the inauguration...

A rising number of Democratic lawmakers have said they plan to boycott President-elect Donald Trump's inauguration at the US Capitol on 20 January.

More than 50 House Democrats are refusing to watch as Mr Trump is sworn in as the 45th US president amidst a feud between the newly elected president and the civil rights activist and congressman, John Lewis.

Why is there a boycott?

Mr Lewis, a revered member of the 1960s struggle, sparked controversy on Friday when he called Mr Trump's victory illegitimate because of Russia's alleged interference in the election.

The president-elect hit back on Twitter, attacking the Georgia lawmaker as "all talk, talk, talk - no action or results", which prompted a wave of outrage from people saying if anyone embodied action, it was the 76-year-old.

Dozens of members of Congress have announced they will skip the event.

the snooty left...

From Michael Brown at the Christian Post...

After many hours of hard work, I've put together an exhaustive list of the prominent celebrities who chose not to perform at President Obama's inaugural ceremonies in 2009 and 2013 because they were threatened with death, boycotts, or ostracism. The grand total, to my knowledge, is zero, despite the right's deep antipathy of Barack Obama.

But when it comes to the inauguration of Donald Trump, Andrea Bocelli, the wonderfully gifted, blind operatic tenor, has decided not to perform, despite being a friend of the president-elect. And reports indicate that it was not just because he was threatened with a boycott; rather, it was because of death threats that his security team deemed too serious to ignore.

Broadway star Jennifer Holliday has also dropped out of the inaugural festivities after being branded an "Uncle Tom." (I thought Uncle Tom's were male, by definition?) Claiming she didn't realize that performing at the inauguration would be interpreted as supporting the president (really?), she wrote, "My only choice must now be to stand with the LGBT community and to state unequivocally that I will not perform for the welcome concert or for any of the inauguration festivities."

Ironically, Trump offended some of his most conservative supporters by having his openly gay friend Peter Thiel, co-founder of PayPal, speak at the Republican National Convention, while Thiel remains a key member of Trump's transition team.

Trump also proudly held up a gay flag at one of his rallies, celebrating LGBT's for Trump, and he recently picked Anthony Scaramucci, a self-described "gay rights activist," for a senior advisory role.

In fact, it was Scaramucci, as a member of the president-elect's transition team, who started the rumor that Trump would be "the first American president in US history that enters the White House with a pro-gay-rights stance. Elton John is going to be doing our concert on the mall for the inauguration." (Fran Curtis, John's spokesman immediately denied this report to the New York Times, stating, "Incorrect. He will NOT be performing.")

It appears that the vast majority of LGBT leaders, are not impressed. Standing with Trump means standing against them, and those who stand against them must be punished.

Other celebrities also declined invitations, apparently without any outside pressure being put on them, with John Legend explaining to the BBC: "Creative people tend to reject bigotry and hate.

"We tend to be more liberal-minded. When we see somebody that's preaching division and hate and bigotry, it's unlikely that he'll get a lot of creative people that want to be associated with him."

Ah yes, the tolerance and enlightenment of the creative left!

I fully understand that President-elect Trump continues to be a highly divisive figure, most recently attacking Congressman John Lewis, a Civil Rights icon, for saying that he did not believe Trump was a "legitimate" president because of Russian hacking of the election. Even some Republican leaders spoke up on Lewis's behalf, while his constituents, who also felt slighted, lashed out at Trump as well.

Mind you, if my memory is correct (I will need to search my pdf record) Michael Brown urged his readers not to vote for Trump in favour of a Rubio or a Cruz, but eventually when Trump was the last Republican standing, he was still against Hillary and urged his readers to vote for Trump or not vote all all...

millions march against the whatever...

Millions of people from all over the world have marched in opposition to the agenda and rhetoric of President Donald Trump.

In the United States, people packed into the country's capital for the Women's March on Washington, as hundreds of other marches happened across America's 52 states.

A city official in Washington said the turnout estimate was at 500,000 people, more than double the initial predictions, forcing organisers to abandon plans to march towards the White House.

Figures from transport officials in Washington suggested more people attended the march than came for Mr Trump's inauguration.

By 11:00am, the city's subway system had carried 275,000 people, whereas only 193,000 had taken trips by the same time on Inauguration Day.

Interim DC Police Chief Peter Newsham said: "The crowd stretches so far that there's no room left to march".

Should I say against my will-to-live that would Hillary got the job by a smidging, the same people all over the world would have marched against her desire to bomb Damascus? Or Russia? Or would miffed males have marched in huge numbers against the Woman's hawkish policies?
