testify...

The Wall Street Journal reported late on Thursday that retired general Michael Flynn, who served as national security adviser to President Donald Trump, offered to be interviewed by FBI and congressional officials in exchange for immunity from any prosecution that may result from ongoing investigations into ties between Trump campaign officials and Russia. Flynn resigned in February, less than a month into his White House tenure, following revelations that he misled White House officials about his communications with Russian ambassador Sergei Kislyak. The offer, made through an attorney, has thus far not been accepted, the Journal reported.

More from the Journal:

It wasn’t clear if Mr. Flynn had offered to talk about specific aspects of his time working for Mr. Trump, but the fact that he was seeking immunity suggested Mr. Flynn feels he may be in legal jeopardy following his brief stint as the national security adviser, one official said...

Mr. Flynn’s communications with the Russian ambassador, Sergei Kislyak, have been scrutinized by the FBI, which is examining whether Trump campaign personnel colluded with Russian officials who are alleged to have interfered with the presidential election, according to current and former U.S. officials. Russia has denied the allegations.

Flynn’s general counsel, Robert Kelner, said in a statement that his client “certainly has a story to tell, and he very much wants to tell it, should the circumstances permit.”

with the donald blessings...

US President Donald Trump has backed former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn's offer to testify as part of a congressional investigation into the Trump campaign's potential ties with Russia, in exchange for immunity from prosecution.

Trump took to Twitter on Friday to express his support for Flynn's offer, calling the congressional probe into his administration's alleged ties with Russia a "witch hunt."

"Mike Flynn should ask for immunity in that this is a witch hunt (excuse for big election loss), by media & Dems, of historic proportion!" Trump wrote.

Flynn's offer was initially reported by the Wall Street Journal and later confirmed by his attorney, Robert Kelner.

However, the House denied the WSJ report on Thursday.

meanwhile, "they" did spy on trump... "inadvertently"...

WASHINGTON — A pair of White House officials helped provide Representative Devin Nunes of California, a Republican and the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, with the intelligence reports that showed that President Trump and his associates were incidentally swept up in foreign surveillance by American spy agencies.

The revelation on Thursday that White House officials disclosed the reports, which Mr. Nunes then discussed with Mr. Trump, is likely to fuel criticism that the intelligence chairman has been too eager to do the bidding of the Trump administration while his committee is supposed to be conducting an independent investigation of Russia’s meddling in the presidential election.

It is the latest twist of a bizarre Washington drama that began after dark on March 21, when Mr. Nunes got a call from a person he has described only as a source. The call came as he was riding across town in an Uber car, and he quickly diverted to the White House. The next day, Mr. Nunes gave ahastily arranged news conference before going to brief Mr. Trump on what he had learned the night before from — as it turns out — White House officials.

The chain of events — and who helped provide the intelligence to Mr. Nunes — was detailed to The New York Times by four American officials.

Since disclosing the existence of the intelligence reports, Mr. Nunes has refused to identify his sources, saying he needed to protect them so others would feel safe going to the committee with sensitive information. In his public comments, he has described his sources as whistle-blowers trying to expose wrongdoing at great risk to themselves.

completely unproven...

Liberal Democrats keep fantasizing that Donald Trump will soon be impeached over his campaign’s alleged and completely unproven collusion with Russia to swing the 2016 presidential election. But there still isn’t any evidence, much less proof, of such collusion.

100 percent record on authenticity...

The CIA possesses a tool for disguising the source of its hacks, that's according to the latest release of classified documents from Wikileaks, called "Marble". Previous batches of CIA documents released by WikiLeaks also revealed some other tactics the agency is said to have used to link cyber-attacks to other countries.

At the same time, the agency is also believed to have a program, called UMBRAGE, which allows it to mimic all sorts of hacking techniques, and can leave traces that will point to foreign sources instead of the US.

RT: Do these tactics revealed by Wikileaks seem to you, as to a former CIA agent, to be credible? Could the US really have this capability?

Ray McGovern: It is genuine. WikiLeaks and Julian Assange have a 100 percent record on authenticity. That matters. I am an intelligence analyst. This is the kind of unadulterated evidence after which I lust. After which any investigator or newsman should lust. Because Julian Assange doesn’t change anything. It is documentary. And what does that mean? And that means that as an intelligence analyst, I can analyze and interpret it. And there is no way other to interpret this than the poor people from the Crowdstrike, the computer company that the DNC hired to look into who was hacking into their computers, it was beyond its capability to determine who had this virus in there.

CIA has worked with NSA for 15 years on this kind of program. How many lines of code are there? 700 million. How much does each line of code cost? 25 dollars. Do the math. So, only CIA as a beneficiary of NSA technology can do this. Why does CIA do it and not NSA, because the CIA takes riskier actions. As an intelligence analyst, I would say we could perhaps forgive Crowdstrike, but we could not forgive the head of the FBI who was very embarrassed to say 10 days ago, “We never got direct access to DNC computers. So, we had to use secondary forensics and that came from Crowdstrike.” That is a very poor admission to make.

RT: The investigation into Russian alleged meddling in the US is still underway, yet no real proof has been provided. This story has been ongoing for quite a while....Can we expect any concrete evidence to come out this late?

RM: The problem is that the mainstream media in the US accuses RT of being a propaganda organ. It is sort of like the pot calling the kettle black. The black reality is that some of this information never appears in the mainstream media, witnessed by the fact that one of the deputy assistance secretaries of state of the Pentagon admitted that she was very concerned at the end of Obama administration that the very sensitive information that indicated how the Obama administration, i.e. the CIA, was getting us information that was leaked on personages within the Trump campaign. We had to protect that information because we can never let them know how we got it. That has not even been published and that is three days old.

Some Journalists (in the West) are reeling about Assange, because "he" (Wikileaks) did not filter the information that has been released by his outfit, especially those about diplomats poo-pooing the host country in which they had been assigned to by the Potomac sewer masters. But though these were petty snooty stuff, the Western journos forget about the massive dump about Hillary's war on Libya and other such crap she engaged into... Of course we know why: all her crap was forgiven, and she was to become the first female president of the United States, as assigned by the bulk of the Western press, except for the rigmarole of Uncle Rupe.

Anyway, good luck to Aussie Assange and his new woman, Pamela Anderson. I'm too old to be jealous but most of the younger journos would be totally pissed off about this gorgeous fantastic woman dating possibly the most powerful man in the world.

All I hope here that Pamela is not a CIA plant in Julian's life...

flynn, under the microscope again...

The Defense Department's inspector general has opened an investigation to determine whether Michael Flynn, Donald Trump's former national security advisor, accepted payments from a foreign government without permission, according to documents released Thursday by Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.).

"These documents raise grave questions about why General Flynn concealed the payments he received from foreign sources after he was warned explicitly by the Pentagon," Cummings, the top Democrat on the House oversight committee, said in a statement. "Our next step is to get the documents we are seeking from the White House so we can complete our investigation. I thank the Department of Defense for providing us with unclassified versions of these documents." Earlier this week, Cummings blasted the White House for refusing to provide his committee with documents related to whether Flynn disclosed his foreign payments when he reapplied for a security clearance last year.

Prior to working for Trump, Flynn had led the Defense Intelligence Agency under former President Barack Obama. Flynn was pushed out of that job in 2014 and the DIA explicitly told Flynn that he could not to accept any compensation from a foreign state without prior permission from the federal government. Flynn, however, took $45,000 in speaking fees from television network RT (formerly know as Russia today), which U.S. intelligence officials describe as a Russian propaganda outlet.

Yates Said Flynn Could Be Blackmail Target

In her Senate testimony, Sally Q. Yates, the former acting attorney general, said that she told the White House counsel that Mr. Flynn was susceptible to Russian blackmail.

nothing new and something new...

After Sally Yates, the former acting Attorney General of the Trump administration, and Deputy Attorney General under former President Barack Obama, testified at a Senate committee on “Russian meddling” in the 2016 US presidential election, President Donald Trump did not hold back his opinions on Twitter.

Also appearing before the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime and Terrorism was Director of National Intelligence James Clapper — and neither of them offered any evidence of the Trump campaign colluding with the Russian government.

“Director Clapper reiterated what everybody, including the fake media already knows- there is "no evidence" of collusion w/ Russia and Trump,” the president tweeted following the hearing.

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) May 8, 2017

Trump also asserted that Yates offered nothing new before the Senate.

“Sally Yates made the fake media extremely unhappy today —- she said nothing but old news!” Trump wrote on the social media platform.

The long and drawn-out hearing offered little of value, which the president pointed out — and at the cost of the American public.

The wife of Senator Bernie Sanders is being investigated for allegedly defrauding a bank when she was head of Burlington College. Her husband is slamming the charges as being politically motivated.

Federal investigators are conducting interviews regarding Jane Sanders, who was the president of Burlington College from 2004 to 2011. It is alleged that she falsified loan documents in order to expand the college grounds, according to a Friday report from the Daily Caller.

claiming the fifth...

Former White House national security adviser Michael Flynn has invoked his constitutional right against self-incrimination and declined to hand over documents sought under subpoena by a Senate panel investigating Russia's meddling in the 2016 election.

Key points:
  • Michael Flynn's attorneys argue special counsel appointment created "legally dangerous environment" for client
  • Decision to use constitutional protection is not an admission of wrongdoing, attorneys write
  • Mr Flynn's decision not to cooperate does not fully close the door on future cooperation

In a letter to the Senate intelligence committee, Mr Flynn's attorneys justified the decision by citing an "escalating public frenzy against him".

It also said the Justice Department's recent appointment of a special counsel had created a legally dangerous environment for him to cooperate with the panel's investigation.

"The context in which the committee has called for General Flynn's testimonial production of documents makes clear that he has more than a reasonable apprehension that any testimony he provides could be used against him," the attorneys wrote in the letter, which was obtained by the Associated Press.

Senators Richard Burr and Mark Warner, the top Republican and Democrat on the Senate panel, said in a statement they were disappointed by Mr Flynn's decision, but would "vigorously pursue" his testimony.
