History gets in the way of the future. It prevents us to release the peace doves, as they would get shot by the next psycho with a gun. 

And, as we welcome Trump to the hall of fame for ruling psychos (Hillary has been there for some time as Secretary of State — having done a worse job than John Bolton who has not been able to destroy a country yet, but wait for it...), we have to spend some time looking at the history of our fluff-harbouring navel. Or is it our brain that is deranged? It’s getting harder to know and make sense of it all, because the chronology of crap is blurred, and the threats are still above us like a Damocles' sword. Meanwhile the cannon merchants are making a profit and they don’t care much about people getting killed.

After WW2, the consensus was that we needed to do something to prevent WW3. Ahah… The next steps in this hypocritical handshake have been full of deceptive potholes added to slow down our speed on the highway to nuclear annihilation. Annihilation is bad for business.

Igor Malashenko, one of the founders of Russia's NTV channel, was found dead in Spain. His death has been confirmed. It was said that Malashenko might have committed suicide. He was 64. 

Malashenko was one of the people who founded NTV. He was also involved in PR campaign for Boris Yeltsin in 1996. In 2017, he served for a few months as the chief of Ksenia Sobchak (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ksenia_Sobchak) headquarters during the presidential election in Russia.

What happened?

During parliamentary elections in 1999 and presidential elections in 2000, NTV was critical of the Second Chechen War, of Vladimir Putin and of the political party Unity backed by Putin. In the puppet show, Kukly, started at the beginning of February 2000, Putin-Puppet was presented as Little Zaches based on a story by E.T.A. Hoffmann — a German Romantic author of fantasy and Gothic horror, a jurist, composer, music critic and artist — "Little Zaches called Cinnabar", in which blindness causes villagers to mistake an evil gnome for a beautiful baby. This provoked a fierce reaction from Putin's supporters. On 8 February the newspaper Sankt-Peterburgskie Vedomosti published a letter signed by the Rector of St. Petersburg State University Lyudmila Verbitskaya, the Dean of its Law Department Nikolay Kropachyovand, some of Putin's other presidential campaign assistants that urged the prosecution of the authors of the show for what they considered a criminal offence.

So, satire was a criminal offence as it should be if it’s not good enough — unless it is too good. Presently Trump is threatening SNL every second day for similar bad/good satirical sketches.

Why did they disappear from view? One suspect money — or similar offences to Putin, considering the fact that the main executive producer/collector of cash was Steve Vizard — a right-wing humorist (yes, this species exists) and that these Rubbery Figures were taking the piss out of right-wing businessmen and their cronies in politics. The Rubbery characters developed into a cult, from a show called Fast Forward, also produced by Steve Vizard, which thinly exposed (and used) sexism, racism, fatism and many other isms… Many current Aussie comedians cut their baby teeth on that funny show.

So, what really led to the end of the rubbery figures?… My uneducated guess is that the politicians then, left or right, like Donald Trump now, were their own caricatures and there was little left to the imagination to push for an extra barrel of laughs… As well, like the Putin lovers in 2000, like the Romans and Greeks of the antiquity before that, modern pollies may have threaten reprisal akin to a Mafia hit, or imprisonment or a fine (ouch!).

But we love a good laugh, and as we get emotional with our songs and our theatre, we get blindsided by the lying politicians and their idiotic “intelligence” through a compliant media designed to distract us from the main game: war and peace. Mostly war, because war is profitable — even if it’s just an idea of it or the preparedness for it. When I say war is profitable, it is not profitable for you and me who are mostly in the firing line, but for the “Mother Courages” of this world — those hypocrite bastards who sell the instrument of war and feed the soldiers, and hate peace. 

What is extraordinary, is that so far, despite a few small skirmishes that have killed around 40 million people since WW2, we have been “at peace”… We are not asked to contribute to “the War Effort” anymore, as, especially in the West, our armies and bombs are ultra-professional. The era of the amateur soldier is finished. And there is (was) the Cold War. As far as total annihilation is concerned, we’re still stopped at a few second to midnight. 

Spies for Peace was a 1960s British group of anti-war activists who broke into a secret government bunker, Regional Seat of Government Number 6 (RSG-6) at Warren Row, near Reading, where they photographed and copied documents about the UK government's preparations for rule after a nuclear war. The RSGs were to include representatives of all the central government departments, to maintain law and order, communicate with (and tax!) the surviving population, while controlling the remaining resources. 

The people were unaware what the government was planning for the aftermath of a nuclear war until it was revealed by Spies for Peace in a pamphlet, Danger! Official Secret RSG-6. Four thousand copies were sent to the national press, politicians and peace movement activists and distributed on the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament's Easter march from Aldermaston.

Apart from other secret information, the pamphlet described emergency planning exercises in which RSG-6 had been activated — including a NATO exercise in September 1962, FALLEX-62. Spies for Peace explained that the exercise demonstrated the incapacity of the public services to cope with the consequences of nuclear attack and that the RSG system would not work. The exercise, they said, "proved once and for all the truth of the 1957 Defence White Paper that there is no defence against nuclear war.” 

The pamphlet also claimed that at the time of the Cuban Missile Crisis, a month after the NATO exercise, RSG-6 was not activated. Harold Macmillan, the UK prime minister, helped JFK defuse the situation with the Russians. Eventually, a secret agreement was made. The US would remove its nuclear arsenal from Europe and the Russians would retreat from their intent to place nuclear missiles on Cuba. Presently, the dork in chief is reversing this agreement, under false pretences. Thus as the US are yet again placing nuclear missiles in Europe, the Rooskies are responding in kind and aiming a shit load of missiles at Europe just in case. The Europeans are mad. They have not realised that the USA have shifted the focus of total annihilation to Europe, including the UK, before and after brexit.

Back in 1962, Vasili Alexandrovich Arkhipov (Russian: Василий Александрович Архипов, IPA: [vɐˈsʲilʲɪj ɐlʲɪkˈsandrəvʲɪtɕ arˈxipɔːf], 30 January 1926 – 19 August 1998) was a Soviet Navy officer credited with casting the single vote that prevented a Soviet nuclear strike (and, presumably, all-out nuclear war) during the Cuban Missile Crisis. 

Such an attack would have likely caused a major global thermonuclear response which, as Noam Chomsky described, could have destroyed much of the world. As flotilla commander and second-in-command of the diesel powered submarine B-59, Arkhipov refused to second the captain's decision to use nuclear torpedoes against the United States Navy, a decision requiring the agreement of all three senior officers aboard. In 2002 Thomas Blanton, who was then director of the US National Security Archive, said that Arkhipov "saved the world”.

We love Василий Александрович Архипов to death. He should have a statue on every town square around the entire planet. 

But, despite Василий Александрович Архипов's massive influence on my existence (survival), this planet is still Planet Imbecile. May be I should pray god that Putin “might interfere again” (he has not) but this time make a better choice. The Yanks are scrubbing the bottom of the barrel when we should be drinking from the surface of the elixir of smartness. We’re stuffed. Imagine. We could have been born on another of the billion beaut planet that support life in this universe — and we got duded by coming to life on this stupid idiotic one.
