Defence Minister in AWB Double-Snare

 Former Defence Minister Robert Hill now joins PM Howard and Ministers Downer and Vaiille in being implicated in the AWB cover-up.

Only a few sleeps away from the delivery of the AWB Report we learn that 70 employees of the the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade knew about the bribes to Saddam as far back as 2001

A cable from Australia's mission to the United Nationse refferring to "kickbacks"  was sent to DFAT, the Defence Intelligence Organisation and the Defence Department, and marked for the information of the Prime Minister, the Trade Minister, Austrade, the Foreign Minister and the Defence Minister.

 The fact that Senator Hill was the Defence Minister concerned and is now Australia's ambassador to the UN should make for some exciting conversation in New York.  Hill will need to explain , given that the cable was sent to his fellow cabinet ministers, whether or not he assumed his new position with knowledge of the deception carried out by his comrades in the Australian Cabinet.

Will Hill resign his cushy new job or be sacked by Kofi Annan?  Stay tuned....

Pollard, the American Navy employee who spied for Israel in the mid-nineteen-eighties & is now serving a life sentence, has become a cause celebre in Israel & among Jewish groups in the United States.  

The Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, a consortium of fifty-five groups, has publicly called for Pollard's release, arguing, in essence, that his crimes did not amount to high treason against the United States, because Israel was then & remains a close ally – don’t you just love these guys!!

And we know all about Pakistan's efforts with Afghanistan & her success in the nuclear weapons blackmarket, which doesn't stop her being a "special friend" to both the US & Australia. 

Judgement Day Cometh For Howard's Libs

John, over the next few years there are likely to be many scenarios which will incriminate Australian agents provocateur, commissioned or otherwise.  However, our ministers have not been subjected to the same public scrutiny over people like Pollard, and probably never will.  We know, of course, that they will, deny, deny deny.

The beauty of the AWB case is that our ministers' denials are being repudiated almost daily, and whether or not they claim exoneration through the curtailing of Cole's terms of reference is academic if the US Democrats fry Howard and Co at the Congressional hearings.

Life hasn't been this bright in ages!  One way or another the bastards are going to pay
