Big Brother Boring

The long phase of the game seems to have started already. Yabber, yabber, yabber and a load of debate scoring bullsh*t. Christ I am so over it.. watching stuff just keep on rolling out and all sides just point-scoring without giving a tinkers's toss about the ethics of a situation. The trouble is that if I'm "into" politics and I'm feeling like this, how does the generally apolitical bloke or blokette feel?

Let's face it, the bombardment is anaesthetising. Who can be bothered to keep track of the inane to-ing and fro-ing of the Libs and the Labs? There's still this lingering sensation that if you take your eye off the ball some bugger's going to kick a goal, and perhaps this increasing mundanity is a mutual campaign tactic to keep the people's choice fresh and superficial on the last day, yet alert and alarmed until the final bell at the [polling booth. It's just like watching who'll be the last person standing in the Big Brother house.. which is about as stimulating as watching paint dry.

Frankly I think it's more than a disservice. It's an insult to the intelligence of the voting population that they can be manipulated into making a snap decision depending on who's given out the most dollars in the last week.

It's a pity that the strategy usually works. Dumbing us down and bribing us is a sad standard practice. If that's all the voting process has become, then we are being assumed as fools by charlatans.
