ACCC not excluded on broadband: Vaile

The Deputy Prime Minister denies the Government is trying to sidestep the competition watchdog in its latest moves to roll out high speed broadband across Australia.

Cabinet is meeting in Canberra today and will discuss a proposal for a new tender process which excludes the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC).

It is hoped the move will break the deadlock over Telstra's roll out proposal.

Mark Vaile says the Government must ensure "commonsense" competition prevails.

Gus: Don't they know how to use the lingo of BS, at full pace? Lovely to see it used in full flight... Pity about the Costello derogation of labor's proposal... it's like shooting oneself in the foot in anticipation... All BS of course, just to manage the electorate into a comfort zone before hammering it yet again if the coalition wins the elections...

Don't be fooled by these spruikers! You'll end up having to buy your grandmother back from them if they haven't sold her to the highest bidder yet... Hubris!!!
