Kerr's campaign talking points

Christian Kerr writes:

The Government’s tax policy is out – but why didn’t the tax cuts come sooner? The economy has been ticking along nicely for ages now.

Why does the Prime Minister want a leaders debate at the end the first week of a six week campaign?

How much more – or how little – has he got to pull out of the hat? The tax policy is out? What’s he got for the rest of the campaign?  Who do you trust to keep interest rates low - by understating them by one quarter of one per cent? Wasn't that the amount of the last rates rise?

Whoops, Prime Minister! Is Labor being too cute about negative campaigning – starting their own campaign with a feelgood ad featuring their leader but using interviews to accuse the government of “dirt”?  Why do the Exclusive Brethren become the Elusive Brethren when they’re asked about their political interventions?  Will deselected Labor former frontbencher Gavan O’Connor run as an independent in his Geelong seat of Corio?

And what sort of a slogan is “Go for growth”? “Go for growth”? Isn’t that what all those emails that end up in your spam folder say?
