In 2003, Donald Rumsfeld estimated a war with Iraq would cost $60 billion. Five years later, the cost of Iraq war operations is over 10 times that figure. And by the time the war is finished, it will be 50 times that much. What's behind the ballooning dollar signs? Joseph Stiglitz and Linda Bilme's exhaustedly researched book, The Three Trillion Dollar War: The True Cost of the Iraq Conflict, breaks down the price tag, from current debts to the unseen costs we'll pay for years to come. The Hidden Cost of WarFor more perspective on just how much $3 trillion really is, go on The $3 Shopping Spree.

pentagon pissing away more money in iraq …..
from the Progressive Daily Beacon …..
Let's see - hmmm…. Millions of Americans are losing their homes, nearly 50 million don't have health insurance, Wall Street has picked the pockets of the American taxpayer and made off with nearly a trillion bones, and experts are finally admitting that inflation is running over 10 percent.
Still, the Pentagon, a taxpayer-funded corporate welfare wealth-making machine for the wealthy and well-connected weapons manufacturers; still, despite the suffering being shouldered by taxpayers, the Pentagon is going to piss away $300 million in Iraq - the Pentagon is going to spend $300 million paying consulting propagandists to make up FAKE news reports that paint the US in a pretty light.
Here is a zero dollar solution to the U.S. military's problem in Iraq: get out of THEIR country and allow THEM to determine, for better or worst, THEIR destiny!
