Due to recent events, things are coming to a head in the Middle East. As Israel becomes more belligerent and aggressive, more committed than ever to using overwhelming force as its only answer to a rapidly deteriorating situation, feeling itself even further victimized and becoming ever more paranoid, two issues come to the fore: the question of legitimacy and the question of long-term viability. More and more people, even within Israel itself, are becoming aware that what we are looking at is a severe societal case of paranoid schizophrenia, a split personality featuring the Jewish Übermensch and the poor innocent yiddische victim, in light of which the search for a solution becomes even more pressing.

It is becoming clear even to very slow learners that a European settler-colonialist society based on ethnocentric identity, established in the middle of the 20th Century no less, in the midst of people with whom they have little or nothing in common, aggressively alienating their new neighbors through the establishment of an Apartheid state based on blatant racism, and carving out ever more territory for itself through ethnic cleansing and remorseless genocide, never really had much of a future.

The only reason that this bizarre "State" has lasted so long, six decades and counting, has been the financial, military and political support that Israel has been receiving from the West. This support, in turn, has been the result of intense pressure brought to bear by a relatively small number of wealthy and powerful Zionist Jews, the Israel Lobby, particularly in the English speaking democracies. This support seems to be on the verge of weakening, while the political elites are finally beginning to comprehend the insupportable costs to their countries, in lives, wealth, international support and moral standing, of succumbing to such blackmail.

Equally relentless have been a small but determined number of liberal Jews who have fought Zionism from day one, and whose numbers are now increasing exponentially. These people have come to realize not only the moral hypocrisy and irrationality of supporting liberal, humanitarian and universalist causes everywhere except Israel, but the age old danger to themselves of antagonizing their host populations and ultimately incurring their inevitable wrath. One would think that we Jews, supposedly so smart, would learn from history, not mindlessly repeat it.

So is there a way out of this increasingly intolerable and dangerous situation? Of course there is; it's been there from the beginning, and in fact it was the mainstream Zionist policy for nearly eighty years prior to the rise of Nazi Germany. Various configurations were envisioned, but what it boiled down to was sharing the land with its existing inhabitants, the Palestinians, on the basis of justice and equality. These were the conditions, in fact, articulated in the United Nations resolution in favor of the establishment of a Jewish state, which, like all subsequent UN resolutions, Israel has treated with the utmost contempt.

The One State Solution Sounds Like a Good Idea, but ...

Although my mother fled Nazi Germany, as a child, on a Kindertransport, with a few family valuables sown into her clothing, and I was brought up on the myths and hagiography of the Zionist state, I, over time, came to recognize the folly of the whole colonialist enterprise - the folly of ethnic exclusion and expulsion, the inherent tragedy of nationalism based on the delusion of religious birthright. With much sorrow, I came to the sad realization that the dream of the State of Israel was based on European chauvinism and exceptionalism. This reckoning has been a difficult one for me to bear - the hardest awakening of my adult life.

My father was born on a Reservation in the American mid-west. His people, like the Palestinians, resisted invaders of European ancestry and were crushed. At present, both peoples remain exiled and caged in their native land.

The Jewish side of myself understands the historical traumas that gave rise to the yearning for a tribal Homeland. Atavistically, I suffer the Jewish state's collective night terrors and reel in its daylight rationalizations for its brutalities. But the Native American in me knows the rage of those crushed by the heartless force of an invading people.

Neither my father's peoples' bows and arrows nor the "threat" of metal rods, clutched by a few activists aboard the illegally seized Gaza-bound Peace Flotilla, nor Hamas' small rockets will change the tragic trajectory wrought by a tribalist land grab. History reveals a conquered and caged people will starve, in both body and soul, as they watch their hopes wither to dust. But I will not condemn them for their struggle, and even their "provocations" - dangerous and outrageous provocations ... such as the desire not to live out their lives behind ghetto walls, and the actions they take accordingly. (Even though, a provocation will never soften the banal mind of a bully to end his reign of brutality.)

To this day, within me, there are traits of cultural Judaism that have not been washed away in the deluge of shame I experience when confronted by the actions of the state of Israel and the casuistry of her apologists. Deep in my genetic structure, I carry tribal memories of Diaspora and its concomitant feelings of alienation from majoritarian culture. Most often, I still apprehend human existence from the perspective of an alien and interloper, believing my survival is dependent upon knowing where I stand in hostile terrain. By rote, I play the role of the outsider, wary and savvy in my dealings with a hostile gentile world.

In this, I understand the paranoid nature of the Jewish state and the reasons underlying her supporters' rationalizations of her many crimes. Self-deception is at the root of habitual deceit. Sadly, the true believers of the Zionist cause have become case studies in that tragic trait.

"We stand by Israel," State Department spokesman P.J. Crowley declared, as he voiced the State Department's support for Israel's internal investigation of the attack on the flotilla bound for Gaza. Israel "has the institutions and certainly the capability to conduct a credible, impartial and transparent investigation," Crowley said.

Over at the White House they stand by Israel, too.

Though the White House press release  forgot to use that exact phrase, the rest of the words of praise from the highest level of the US government were much the same as the State Department's: Israel "is capable of conducting a serious and credible investigation and the structure and terms of reference of Israel's proposed independent public commission can meet the standard of a prompt, impartial, credible and transparent investigation."

Why did the Zionists become so arrogant?

I concur with your comments above John, and it is easy to agree with the world-wide affection for the Diaspora Jewish people when you eliminate the Zionists from the equation.

But that doesn’t help the lives and ambitions of the millions of Jewish people who are living, comfortably I assume, in at least 26 nations in the world.  Not only that, but their behavior and the flow on of bitterness is only repeating the so many examples of past centuries.

The reasonable question arises WHY can’t they live in peace?  Now?

Is it because they, as a religion or race are universally hated by all nations of the world?  Give a dog a bad name? But, is the “dog” rabid?

It may be that the world wide Jewish media claims that, the actions of the most evil contemporary military power in the world was all for defense.  Of course that is now recognized as crap. 

The Nations crippled financially by WW II are more aware now of the actions of parties involved in causing that catastrophe.

The Diaspora Jewish Organizations have grown and prospered even before WW I.  But there wasn’t a Jewish state to provide their “citizens” involved in the revealed discussions to, either to sacrifice their Jewish brothers, or to go to war and suffer the consequences.

Then there was the Zionist deal with Hitler after they, the Zionists were quite clear of their world-wide intentions in 1897?

No matter how much the unholy US/Zionist alliance tries to bludgeon various peoples into submission, I have the inherent belief in the world population who are, slowly by surely, being educated by the dedicated federal governments, like the Rudd Labor Government in Australia.

With the fear of contemporary Australian politics, try to understand the reason for The Jewish “Australian” media and what that integral part of the Jewish intention of absolute control means.

Should “the Australian” readers, recklessly vote to accept the un-regulated negative Abbott Corporation’s control, we will have gone back the bad old days of the 1950’s.

PARIS: Jews share a genetic bond with Cypriots and Druze, and the Jewish diaspora has maintained a strong DNA continuity despite its long separation from the Middle East, new research has found.

"We found evidence that Jewish communities originated in the Near East," said molecular scientist Doron Behar of the Rambam Health Care Campus in Haifa, Israel.

The study, published yesterday in the British journal Nature, confirmed the Middle Eastern, or Levantine, origins of Jews as documented in ancient Hebrew scriptures. This lineage is clearly visible in communities today, ages after the Jews were expelled from Israel.

More unexpected was the discovery that Jewish patterns of DNA markers were closer to those of Cypriots and Druze than other populations of the Middle East. Diaspora Jews, tightly bound by social, cultural and religious traditions, had maintained a strong genetic continuity, although there had also been an induction of DNA to greater or lesser degree from the host population, the paper said.

What is notable too is that the survey of Jewish DNA was, of course, computed in Israel at a Hospital built by the Brits in 1938 to a German design, and taken over by the Zionists who renamed it after the great 12 century physician-philosopher Rabbi Moshe Ben-Maimon (Maimonides), known as the Rambam.

Some other news-outlets kindly did let us know that the DNA connection did not mean that there was a religious Jewish genes nor that there was a right to take over someone else's land some 1700 years after having left, when the second (?) temple crumbled. In some (many) areas of "modern Israel", the "Arabs" were exiled and their houses were demolished to minimise the risk of them "returning" ...

The process is still happening and it's called "SETTLEMENTS" (including in the Golan Heights formely known as the Syrian Heights... Note:

So, the game has gone on for long enough.

It is about time that the world (including the USA) demands (and enforces) of the Israel to create a two state solution to the Palestine problem. When the world helped the creation of the state of Israel, it gave it some very specific boundaries. The Israel has flaunted these and it should be reined in back for validating its own right to exist.

The Israeli intelligence agency Mossad has failed in an attempt to assassinate Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, a Jordanian weekly says.

Informed sources in Turkey say that the Mossad plot has been foiled by the country's security forces, al-Manar quoted a report in the most recent edition of the Al-Majd weekly as saying.

There are also reports that Israel has been trying to incite violence inside Turkey by lending support to the militants of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK).

Shimon Peres said England was "deeply pro-Arab ... and anti-Israeli", adding: "They always worked against us."

He added: "There is in England a saying that an anti-Semite is someone who hates the Jews more than is necessary."

His remarks, made in an interview on a Jewish website, provoked anger from senior MPs and Jewish leaders who said the 87-year-old president had "got it wrong".

But other groups backed the former Israeli prime minister and said the number of anti-semitic incidents had risen dramatically in the UK in recent years.

The controversy follows the furore last week over David Cameron's remark that Gaza was a "prison camp", as he urged Israel to allow aid and people to move freely in and out of the Palestinian territory.

Mr Peres, a Nobel Peace Prize winner who is three years into his seven-year term as president and was awarded an honorary knighthood by the Queen in 2008, said that England's attitude towards Jews was Israel's "next big problem".

"There are several million Muslim voters, and for many members of parliament, that's the difference between getting elected and not getting elected," he said.

And in England there has always been something deeply pro-Arab, of course, not among all Englishmen, and anti-Israeli, in the establishment.

"They abstained in the [pro-Zionist] 1947 UN partition resolution ... They maintained an arms embargo against us in the 1950s ... They always worked against us. They think the Arabs are the underdogs."
