Federal Treasurer Joe Hockey says the Government is prepared to consider wider exemptions to the Medicare co-payment, after he met with crossbench powerbroker Clive Palmer in Brisbane last night.

the sad death of a brilliant clown...

robin williams

So far it appears that the death of Robin Williams was a suicide... He had been suffering from depression and dealt with it with addiction... It is always hard to know what goes on in the head of people...

I know depression, Artistic people tend to feel it most. Depression is a hard master. It sucks life's motivation out of you... I've dealt with mine for over a long time with what I call positive anger... When one is angry, one cannot be depressed... And anger does not have to be reactive but being "positive" it maintains the fire in the belly. Positive anger can be used for strong creative purposes.

Some Sydney homes may have also been insulated with the same dangerous form of asbestos that was pumped into the so-called Mr Fluffy homes in Canberra.

The Mr Fluffy insulation company installed loose-fill asbestos in the roof spaces of more than 1,000 homes across the ACT during the 1960s and 1970s.

Imo Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere, yesterday, at Imo Government House, has revealed that Governor Rochas Okorocha has churned out veritable programmes to save Igbo language from extinction.

government transparency...

transparency

Not only the Australian government spies on its citizens via retention of data and other means, it also hides behind various veils of secrecy to stop its citizens from knowing the truth about what the government is doing — from fudging economic figures to "operational matters" and "injunctions" to stop the truth about its incompetent, ruthless, dishonest, inefficient, childish ways...

we need citizen media...

resistance is necessary...

As the traditional media has sold its soul to the neo-fascist capitalists which include advertisers in need of your consuming desires, it is time for people to regain the communication matrix. Lucky, the internet has provided an electronic communication device that can defeat the Murdoch of this world. This is the time to launch what has to be called Citizen-Media. Citizen-Media IS NOT SOCIAL-media which itself has been bought out, sold out to the power of inanity. Citizen-Media is the missing link for intelligent discussions and promotion of decent democracy. Democracy has been highjacked by the neo-fascists with the help of the traditional media.

One has to kill in the bud this idiotic rant (24 july 2014) by a conservative writer, Alan Daley, on an ultra conservative US website. These are people with no understanding of anything that does not have the word profit attached to it...:

The reforms proposed by the Abbott government are intended to make it easier for the peak spy agency, Asio, to monitor computers and computer networks. They also contain provisions which create a new offence punishable by five years in jail for “any person” who discloses information relating to “special intelligence operations”.

I am mightily disturbed by the mixing of notions. John Hughes, the Dean of Jesus College in Cambridge, was suddenly killed, in a car accident that deprived his followers from promises of more religious enlightenment... For all we know, Hughes may have become an atheist in his old age...

Global warming is basically a macro-mechanical science of flux with statistical, observational calculations and applied technology. It is a simple science. Compared to the theory of relativity and quantum mechanics, global warming should be as easy to understand as buttering a toast on the right side.
