There we could see René Artois (played by Gordon Kaye) being caught in the French Résistance, playing along like a fool, with Germans acting like fools in that region of foolish France so close to the English Channel that the village was a frequent hiding place for dumb English pilots that got foolishly shot down by the Luftwaffe…
