New Treaty to Save the Euro May Also Divide Europe

By STEVEN ERLANGER and STEPHEN CASTLE 12:40 PM ET

Euro zone members agreed to a treaty that requires stricter fiscal discipline, but efforts to reach unanimity among the members of the European Union failed as Britain refused to go along.

The Yanks have a lot to answer for... I have discovered that I am not alone in thinking that the Yanks have been yanking hard to kill Europe (Yourp), for years... To do this the Yanks have enlisted their "natural" friends/foes, the Poms, and used their banks to undermine the stability of Europe by giving excessive loans to the smaller Yourpean countries on top of selling shit to Yourpean banks... The Poms have never played ball with Yourp... They always wanted their cake and eat it so to speak in an effort to do the dirty work for the Yanks and collect more chips...

BRUSSELS — European leaders, meeting until the early hours of Friday, agreed to sign an intergovernmental treaty that would require them to enforce stricter fiscal and financial discipline in their future budgets. But efforts to get unanimity among the 27 members of the European Union, as desired by Germany, failed as Britain refused to go along.

It is well known in Europe that the Yanks have been trying to split France and Germany by making special deals with one country and not with the other... all in the spirit of destabilisation...

always the odd ball...

European leaders say 26 out of 27 EU member states have backed a tax and budget pact to tackle the eurozone debt crisis.

Only the UK has said it will not join. Prime Minister David Cameron said he had to protect key British interests, including its financial markets.

The 17 countries that use the euro have all agreed to the deal.

Nine other countries have said they will sign up, some pending consultations with their parliaments.

Hungary originally said it would also remain outside the deal but has now changed its stance.
