ye old phoneyman .....

While Prime Minister Kevin Rudd tours the United States, Europe and China, Opposition Leader Brendan Nelson has launched a 'Listening Tour' of Australia with a message on YouTube.

Dr Nelson's YouTube message promotes his three-week tour, where he says he will meet with Australians in service stations, shopping centres, farming communities and at barbeques and morning teas.

In the message, he urges people to tell him what is on their mind and what they think ought to be happening in Australia.

"If you see me, sing out and say G'day,"Dr Nelson says.

Like a buzzzzzy fly landed on the butt of a draught horse, Nelson thinks he is guiding the direction of the cart of history.

Nelson takes credit for Rudd's planned Japan visit

The Federal Opposition is claiming credit for the Prime Minister visiting Japan earlier than first planned.

Foreign Affairs Minister Stephen Smith says Opposition pressure was not behind Kevin Rudd's decision to move forward his meeting with the Japanese Prime Minister.

Opposition Leader Brendan Nelson disagrees and says Mr Rudd responded to his pressure for not including Japan on his current overseas trip.

More louie the mozzie

Like a buzzzzzy fly landed on the butt of a draught horse, Nelson thinks he is guiding the direction of the cart of history (see above). The scribes paying attention to his annoying drazz are like dung beetles pushing stuff uphill...

Rudd is over there to do what he's got to do and whatever is achieved is irrelevant to the whatever the phoneyman does buzzzzzbizzz about...

Nelson pushes Rudd on NATO plans

Federal Opposition Leader Brendan Nelson says the Prime Minister must follow through with his demands for other NATO countries to make a greater commitment to Afghanistan.

World leaders, including Prime Minister Kevin Rudd, are arriving at the NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organisation) summit in Romania, where they will discuss a new strategy for Afghanistan.

Mr Rudd is at the NATO summit because 1,000 members of Australia's Defence Force are in Afghanistan.

no general sense...

We owe Nelson a chance: Robb

Federal Opposition frontbencher Andrew Robb has hinted that Brendan Nelson will be given at least until next month's budget to prove himself.

Mr Robb told ABC1's Insiders that this is a difficult time for the Liberal Party, but until the Government makes some real decisions, it is hard to accurately gauge Dr Nelson's performance.

Reports yesterday suggested senior Liberal Party members were switching their allegiance to treasury spokesman Malcolm Turnbull.

But Mr Robb dismissed the reports.

"I can tell you there is no general sense of a mood for change," he said.

Gus: John Howard must be impressed. Not only he lost the elections, not only the best woman won his seat of Benelong, but being replaced by Brendan Nelson? Ouch... Anyway, ONE more month is a long time in politics when there is "no general sense".
