democracy alla americana…...

As Russia mobilizes hundreds of thousands of troops, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken told a United Nations meeting on Thursday that Washington will bolster Kiev’s forces until it can end the conflict with Russia on favorable terms.

Addressing the UN Security Council, Blinken declared that the US “will continue to support Ukraine as it defends itself, and strengthen its hand to achieve a diplomatic solution on just terms at a negotiating table.”

“Diplomacy is the only way to end this war,” Blinken continued. “But diplomacy cannot and must not be used as a cudgel to impose on Ukraine a settlement that cuts against the UN Charter, or rewards Russia for violating it.”

Blinken’s declaration echoes his often-repeated line that the US must help Kiev achieve military victories so it can dictate its terms during an eventual settlement with Moscow. To that end, the US has flooded Ukraine with progressively more advanced weaponry and lavished Kiev with economic and humanitarian aid, at a cost to the US taxpayer of around $54 billion since February.

However, Ukraine’s only successful offensive of the conflict so far came earlier this month in a region held by a significantly lighter contingent of Russian and allied troops, and Kiev’s forces likely face far tougher challenges in the coming months, after Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the mobilization of 300,000 reservists on Wednesday.

Further complicating matters is Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky’s pledge to capture the Russian territory of Crimea, as well as the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics. The two Donbass republics will vote this week on joining the Russian Federation, with similar referendums being held in the Russian-controlled regions of Zaporozhye and Kherson. Crimea voted in 2014 to rejoin Russia.

While most Western leaders have stated that they foresee the conflict ending in a negotiated peace, no NATO or EU heads of state have called on Zelensky to compromise on his plans to seize Donbass and Crimea. Few analysts or pundits in the West have questioned the Ukrainian leader’s publicly stated objectives, with those who have, such as former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, denounced at home and declared enemies of Ukraine by Kiev.

El Brandono Whines About Referendums in Russia-Controlled Ukraine BY

President Biden: "The United States wants this war to end of just terms, on terms we all signed up for; that you cannot seize a nation's territory by force. The only country standing in the way of that is Russia...We will stand in solidarity with Ukraine." #UNGA

Wait, hold up – is Brandon claiming that it is possible for a vote to be faked?

That sounds to me like an attack on the values of our democracy. I was told that it was impossible for a vote to be faked, and that anyone who ever claimed that was possible was against who we are.

The US will “never recognize” the referendums in the Donbass republics and two Russian-controlled regions in Ukraine, President Joe Biden said on Friday, pledging that Washington and its allies will seek to impose “severe economic costs” on Moscow over the votes.

Biden denounced the referendums on joining Russia, which kicked off on Friday, as “a sham.”

They are “a false pretext to try to annex parts of Ukraine by force in flagrant violation of international law, including the United Nations Charter,” his statement read.

The US leader pledged to “work with our allies and partners to impose additional swift and severe economic costs on Russia,” without providing further details.

He went on to say that Washington would “continue to support the Ukrainian people and provide them with security assistance” to fight off Russian troops.

On Friday, the Donbass republics of Donetsk and Lugansk, as well as the Russian-controlled Kherson Region and part of Zaporozhye Region, began their referendums on joining Russia, which will be completed on September 27.

If he’s not saying the vote is fake, he’s saying that these people don’t have a right to vote for independence, and therefore have to be occupied and abused by the Kiev government. If that’s the case, he needs to explain why it is that Kiev has a right to rule over people who do not want to be ruled over by Kiev.

Brandon claims that this violates the UN Charter, but I’ve recently studied that document, and it seems to me that NATO is the one violating the UN Charter. Written in 1948, the Charter calls for independent governance.

I am relatively certain that Russian-speaking Ukraine would qualify as a “non-self-governing territory.” The goal of the UN, as stated in chapter 73 of article XI, is to establish self-governance in territories without it:

to develop self-government, to take due account of the political aspirations of the peoples, and to assist them in the progressive development of their free political institutions, according to the particular circumstances of each territory and its peoples and their varying stages of advancement

The Russian speakers of the soon-to-be former Ukraine territories appear to be entering a new stage of development, and establishing free political institutions. I’m not sure what argument could be made against this. The Democrats – and most Republicans – are claiming that “borders are sacred,” but I don’t think this concept is explicated in the UN Charter. In fact, referenda are explicitly endorsed as a means for non-self-governing territories to establish independence.

I don’t think the UN Charter has a right to determine world events regardless, but Biden is the one who brought it up.

NATO, a militant globalist terror organization, has also denounced the referendums, with the suspected homosexual head of the illegitimate group claiming that they change nothing.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has slammed the ongoing referendums in Donbass and two regions of eastern Ukraine, as citizens weigh whether they would like to formally join Russia.

With voting set to take place over the next few days in the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics – which are already recognized by Moscow – and the Ukrainian regions of Kherson and Zaporozhye, Stoltenberg insisted that Russia would use the “sham” referendums “to further escalate the war.”

He added that they would have “no legitimacy and of course they don’t change anything.”

Russians are showing big support for the referendums.

That is a whole lot more people than showed up to protest the mobilization, but the Western media isn’t reporting on it.

Despite the claims of NATO, these referendums change absolutely everything.

When the referendums are complete, Russia will no longer be occupying foreign territory, they will be standing in Russia. That will mean that the entire dynamic of the conflict changes, and the Ukraine will officially be bombing Russia and killing Russian citizens.

Putin claimed that he will use nuclear weapons to defend all of Russia from any threats. I doubt that means he is going to launch nukes in response to ongoing bombings by the Ukraine against civilian population centers in the Donbass, but it will give him that option.

Furthermore, the entirety of the SCO is going to recognize Russia’s claim on these territories. There are observers at the votes, and so China, India and others will be acknowledging that the Ukraine and their NATO allies are attacking Russia.

Russia can also move to establish a much more significant military presence in the area as they normalize.

It’s not good for NATO, and it does change things, which is why they are flipping out.
