Former US President Joe Biden has offered to raise funds, campaign, and do whatever is needed to help Democrats regain ground lost to the Republicans during his tenure, NBC News reported on Friday, citing people familiar with the matter.

Biden has reportedly made the offer in private conversations with party leaders, including a meeting last month with new Democratic National Committee chairman Ken Martin. The former president expressed his willingness to support the party amid its declining popularity, according to individuals familiar with the discussions.

Democratic favorability among registered voters polled recently for NBC came in at 27% — the lowest since polling began in 1990.

Biden’s proposal has reportedly received a lukewarm response, with some activists and donors citing his age, 82, and association with the 2024 loss as drawbacks. Many Democrats are reportedly frustrated by Biden’s choice to seek re-election and refusal to step out of the race until only months before the vote, limiting the time former Vice President Kamala Harris would have to mount a campaign against Donald Trump, which she lost.

However, not all Democrats have dismissed Biden’s potential role, the outlet reports, quoting DNC Vice Chair Jane Kleeb as saying that Biden remains a beloved figure among voters and would be welcomed as a speaker at party events.

Despite the differing views, Biden and former first lady Jill Biden have both indicated their readiness to campaign and fundraise as the couple returns to private life in Delaware, according to sources cited by the media. The former president has reportedly been commuting to Washington and meeting with former aides.

US President Donald Trump has mentioned Biden and his administration more than 400 times since taking office in January, according to NBC. The president has criticized his predecessor on issues ranging from immigration to inflation, and even questioned the validity of documents signed using an autopen.

For now, Biden has not responded publicly to Trump’s criticisms. His aides told NBC he has no regrets and remains defiant, believing his party mishandled the 2024 race.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) - The administration of US President Donald Trump has decided to deny access to classified information and the ability to work with it to Kamala Harris, Hillary Clinton and members of former President Joe Biden's family.

"It is no longer in the national interest for the following individuals to access classified information: Antony Blinken, Jacob Sullivan, Lisa Monaco, Mark Zaid, Norman Eisen, Letitia James, Alvin Bragg, Andrew Weissmann, Hillary Clinton, Elizabeth Cheney, Kamala Harris, Adam Kinzinger, Fiona Hill, Alexander Vindman, Joseph R. Biden Jr., and any other member of Joseph R. Biden Jr.'s family. Therefore, I hereby direct every executive department and agency head to take all additional action as necessary and consistent with existing law to revoke any active security clearances held by the aforementioned individuals and to immediately rescind their access to classified information," the White House said in a statement.

It said all executive department and agency heads were directed to revoke unescorted access to secure United States Government facilities from these individuals.

Embattled New York Attorney General Letitia James ducked reporters outside her Brooklyn home Wednesday, refusing to answer questions about her simmering mortgage fraud scandal.

James, who infamously declared “no one is above the law” when prosecuting former President Donald Trump, feigned talking on her cellphone as reporters peppered her with questions about her getting slapped with a federal criminal referral alleging mortgage fraud.

According to a letter obtained by The Post, James, who draws an annual salary of $220,000, allegedly “falsified records” to get sweetheart home loans for a Virginia property she claimed as her “principal residence” in 2023 — while she was still serving as a New York state prosecutor.

“Ms. James, for both properties listed above, appears to have falsified records in order to meet certain lending requirements and receive favorable loan terms,” he told Bondi and Blanche.

Pulte said this could amount to criminal charges, including wire fraud, mail fraud, bank fraud and false statements to a financial institution, among others.

“Attorney General James is focused every single day on protecting New Yorkers, especially as this Administration weaponizes the federal government against the rule of law and the Constitution. She will not be intimidated by bullies — no matter who they are,” a spokesman for James’ office said in a statement.
