more anti-global warming crap from miranda on a beautiful over the temperature average day in paradise...

miranda's crap

One should be aware that Dr David Evans, the mathematician got his degree in electricity. He has worked for our illustrious Rattus for a few years to do massive calculations to prove that global warming is not due to CO2. He is a sceptic. He is a denialist. And further more his partner is Jo Nova (Jo Nova — fiction writer...), this bullshit artist of unscientific bullshit...

The model of the IPCC did not fail to predict anything. All the progress of global warming — if we can call this progression, a progress — is accounted in the bracketing of errors and uncertainty. To mention the pause in global warming for the last 18 years and counting is stupid and simply wrong. Ten of the warmest years since 1850s have been since the turn of the century, the 2000 one. 2014 was the warmest year on record. The analysis and calculation are conservative.

The sun has a part to play. Sure. We all know that and the IPCC knows that. But despite the sun having been "quiet" for the first 10 years of this century, despite a longer than usual La Nina, the temperatures have climbed, not paused.

CO2 is the major culprit. Methane is a culprit. The complexities of the calculations cannot be done with a slide rule... But should one do calculations using a slide rule or a pocket calculator, the actual trend is that we would fry by 2032.

Miranda write shit as usual. She does not know what she writes about but her platform is Uncle Rupe's. It is actually a disgrace that someone like Miranda is able to spruik shit like that. May the pope excommunicate her.

the stupidity of some still amaze me...

As a mathematician, physicist and excellent trustworthy bullshit artist, Gus can assure you that the IPCC model, NASA model and the other computerised models of global warming are CORRECT. They bracket the problem of global warming with the most conservative (lower figures) outlook in order not to be "alarmists".

There is no alarm in scientifically evaluating the resultant of CO2 (and other warming gases) in the atmosphere. Some people will argue that a few extra PPM of CO2 can't induce global warming... because the quantities are too small. Let me tell you that not even half a PPM of some poisons will kill you. The effect is not in the quantity, but in the reactivity. The reactivity of the NATURAL carbon cycle for the past million years has been to oscillate between 180 to 300 PPM with lowering and rising temperatures to match. All factors are included in the global warming models — the Milankovitch cycles, the sun activity, the albedo and the balances between cooling and warming gases, as well as the atmosphere layering and many other stuff.

Since 1850, humans have added EXTRA CO2 in the atmosphere, this extra CO2 coming from burning naturally sequestered carbon that was part of the surface equation during warmer climes, and then got buried — inducing cooling. Resurrecting this carbon is like resurrecting the warmer climes. Makes sense? Simple. It can be calculated. Should we resurrect as much carbon as we have so far since 1850, we're likely to help the sea level rise by around 30 metres. Simple.

Arrhenius was correct and the mathematician doesn't like it. Well stuff you the mathematician from Perth and conspiracy theorist... and go away Jo... And stop peddling what you don't know anything about, Miranda...

floods, hurricanes and heat waves in early october...

Extreme flooding in South Carolina has left at least 11 people dead and tens of thousands without power or drinking water.

President Barack Obama signed a disaster declaration, making federal aid available to the state that has been drenched with a level of rain that, as governor Nikki Haley put it, the region has not seen in 1,000 years.

A tropical air mass over much of South Carolina starting on last Thursday dumped 360 millimetres of rain, a new record, according to the National Weather Service.

That downpour caused sudden and dramatic flooding, bursting dams and leaving residents scrambling for safety.

"It was traumatic, I've never seen anything like this," said Phyllis Jones, a 50-year resident of Columbia, the state capital.

------------------------------

Meanwhile:

A 250 metre ship has been sunk by a hurricane in the Atlantic, a hurricane which has created this record South Carolina dump of rain. (Condolences to the families of the lost 33 crew members).

19 people got killed by fierce record weather on the French Riviera

A record heat wave has struck Australia for four days.

Antarctica is still melting at record rate

A typhoon, including a massive tornado, has killed 11 people in southern China despite warnings.

and:

A recent paper published in Geophysical Research Letters, though, found the pace of global sea-level rise can be masked by the El Niño-La Niña pivot. Once the land water storage effect is stripped out, sea-level rises are accelerating.

The researchers, from Beijing's University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Hokkaido University in Japan, found that the increase in global mean sea levels has accelerated to 4.4mm (+/-0.5mm) a year since 2010.

GLOBAL WARMING IS REAL and is ANTHROPOGENIC. We, humans, are inducing this climatic change by burning "fossil fuels".

bring back the carbon tax...

The time is right for governments to introduce taxes on carbon emissions, which would help fight global warming and raise badly needed revenue, IMF chief Christine Lagarde says.

"It is just the right moment to introduce carbon taxes," Ms Lagarde said at the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank in Lima, Peru.

The issue is in the spotlight two months from a key United Nations conference in Paris tasked with delivering a comprehensive carbon-cutting pact.

Besides discouraging pollution, Ms Lagarde said, taxing greenhouse gas emissions would have the added bonus of helping governments boost their revenues at a time when many countries have dipped heavily into their "fiscal buffers" to get through a prolonged rough patch for the global economy.

Here in Australia, thanks to Mr PalmerDisunitedParty we got rid of ours. Our Carbon Pricing was working well at bettering our goal of emission reductions. With the VERY COSTLY direct action fiction plan set up by a silly Tony Abbott, to line the pocket of his polluting mates, we've got buckleys to achieve a fraction of the target...

But according to the extreme right party of Australia that calls itself the "Liberals", global warming is not happening... because... they say so. Imbeciles...

We should be horrified that we destroyed our good will to the rest of the world, to satisfy a cunning intellectual midget that has now gone, departed, been politicisely (politically with precise incision) neutered, and was a grand-standing idiot — a grand champion of fucups, stuff-ups, balls-up, porkies and lies, all along.

smashing records....

Southern Australia smashed heat records this month even without the usual warming in the Red Centre, and more hot weather is on the way, the Bureau of Meteorology says.

All of the bureau's main weather stations in NSW south of the Sydney-Dubbo line set early-season heat records this month, as did all but one of Victoria's main sites, the bureau said in a special climate statement.

Heatwaves baking south-eastern Australia typically draw their extreme warmth from inland Australia, but not this event.

Tell this to Miranda's simpleton mathematician... (read at top). I am sure he has an explanation: "the sun is getting hotter by the minute" (this of course is a bunkum idea but he is a smart fellow with a slide rule and he knows everything)...

GLOBAL WARMING IS REAL. PRESENT GLOBAL WARMING is ANTHROPOGENIC. PRESENT GLOBAL WARMING is THE RESULTANT OF THE BURNING OF FOSSIL FUELS BY US, HUMANS. Simple.
GLOBAL WARMING is not as beneficial as some people could think.

miranda and the rest of the turdograph will hate this...

The Turnbull government has appointed an academic and company director with strong ties to climate and renewables research as its new “wind commissioner”, in a move the clean energy industry says should help return the wind energy debate to “sensible”.

Andrew Dyer serves on the boards of Climateworks Australia and the Monash University sustainability unit. The government says his primary role will be to “refer complaints about windfarms to relevant state authorities” – which are already responsible for dealing with them.

...

Announcing the new commissioner, Hunt said: “The negotiated settlement of the renewable energy target in mid 2015 is expected to lead to increased construction of wind turbines in the next five years.

“The commissioner will refer complaints about windfarms to relevant state authorities and help ensure that they are properly addressed. The commissioner will work with stakeholders to identify needs and priorities for monitoring windfarms [but would not] seek to duplicate or override the important statutory responsibilities of other jurisdictions.”

Dyer will provide an annual report to parliament and draw on the work of a new independent scientific committee on wind turbines. He, and the new committee, will serve for three years, after which the positions will be reviewed.

The membership of the scientific committee has also been announced. It will be chaired by John Davy, an adjunct professor at RMIT.

miranda is back and fuming...

In today's Telecrap, amongst other shitty articles against feminism (in the armed forces) and tree-huggers (those nasty people who can't see the difference between trees ("that are not people") and people riding a tram-to-be on their merry way to the Randwick racecourse) Miranda writes:

TONY Abbott paid the ultimate price for whatever mistakes he made as prime minister. He is now a humble backbencher but his enemies just can't let go of their hate... Blah blah blah...

Practising Catholics like Abbott have the same views, yet he is persecuted if he upholds the values of his faith.

Blah blah blah...

Jolly good M'am. The only problem here is that Tony is far from being humble. He is making a not so humble racket around the trap, with the support of the merde-och press. A backbencher he maybe, but a vengeful revengeful backbencher he is.

Second, I know many "practising Catholics" (on the Labor side, mind you), who hate Abbott's guts so much they'd be prepared to break the sixth commandment "Thou shall not kill"... And they go to confession ten times a day for thinking such a bad thought.
